Childhood/Background Born on a spring morning on April 10th, 2350 in Munich Germany, Arron Julius Drexel was welcomed into the world by his mother Autumn Drexel. His father, David Drexel, a recent graduate of Star Fleet Academy, was away on his first assignment; a deep space exploration misison of the Sataran Expanse. Due to the nature of the mission, Arron did not meet his father until he was 5 years old. As a result Arron grew up much closer to his mother in his early years.

After his father`s return, the family spent a year together in their home in Germany, where Arron and his mother had been staying. When David`s vessel was reassigned to the Sataran Expanse to begin an intense cartography assignment over a 3 year period, David was able to bring his family with him. The Drexels were one of hundreds of families living aboard the vessel, a Nebula class ship, the USS Dauntless.

It didn`t take long for the family to decide they wanted to expand, and so the Drexels welcomed a new son, Jacen Malcom Drexel, born August 27th, 2363. It was shortly after this time that Arron made his first long lasting friendship. While attending a school that was on board the Dauntless, he grew close to a young Bajoran/Human (Human Father/Bajoran Mother) named L`del Kovak. It was Kovak whom exposed Arron to religion. Arron was very curious about the Prophets to whom Kovak referenced so much. Even at a young age Arron became enamored with religion. He began to research and read everything he could about the different religions practiced throughout the quadrant. This eventually became the root of Arron`s love for History. Religion turned into history, and Arron was never too far away from a PADD connected to his school`s history terminals.

Through the bond first made between Arron and L`del, their parents too eventually became friends, and once their second tour of duty in the Sataran expanse was completed in 2364, they both requested a transfer to Outpost 77, where they could continue to work on the data taken from the survey missions. The Drexels were the first to leave, the Dauntless. The Kovaks were to follow a week later, however the Dauntless was lost just 3 days after the Drexels departed for Outpost 77. There has never been an explanation as to what happened to the Dauntless, and no sign of the vessel has been found to this day. Arron had a difficulty coping with the loss of his friend, and his grades at school suffered. Being at a new but remote location with fewer kids and fewer teachers, Arron had trouble adapting. His grades continued to drop, and his behavior at home turned rebellious in nature. After 2 years on the Outpost (2364-2366), David decided to move the family closer to the heart of the Federation where he hoped being around more kids his age would benefit Arron.

David took a job at the Federation embassy on the Grazerite home world. It was here that the family became connected with Jaresh-Inyo as David served as a Star Fleet liason on his staff while Jaresh was on the Federation council. The move proved beneficial to Arron, as he was able to spend more time with more children his age, and was exposed to hobbies. Arron began to become intrigued with politics and was often seen accompanying his father to important state dinners and other events as his mother felt it was more important for her to stay home with Jacen. Arron and David finally developed a strong bond during this period as David was thrilled to see Arron show interest in his work.

The Drexels moved back to Earth in 2369 when Jaresh-Inyo was elected President of the Federation. Arron`s father had been promoted to Captain at President Inyo`s request, and commanded the President's personal starship, the USS Federation, though it was more of ceremonial posting as the President rarely left Earth with the Dominion threat looming. Having developed an understanding of the basics of politics and with several connections, even at the age of 16, Arron became the first underclassman in his high school's history to win an election for school president. Arron`s parents had a third child in that time, they had hoped for a girl, but were still happy when they found out it was going to be a boy. Andrew Paul Drexel was born August 3rd, 2370.

Arron finished high school a year early in 2372 and was asked to join Jaresh-Inyo's reelection campaign. Eager to establish himself as a new up and coming player in the world of politics, Arron couldn`t think of a better way to launch his career. The campaign took a major hit when Admiral Leyton was discovered to be a changeling and was pulling strings to incite a military takeover of Earth. President Inyo acted quickly to revert some of the changes that had been put into place, but the damage to his campaign was irreversible, and Inyo lost the election.

After the campaign was over, Inyo pulled some strings to get Arron a position as a junior delegate to the Federation council. Arron would work with the council for 4 years until his eventual resignation in 2376. It was during that time he developed a reputation as a smooth talking gentleman, and was rumored to have had quite a list of female foreign dignitaries with whom he had shared a bed with. In 2376 a sex scandal was publicized after a reporter leaked pictures of Arron and the young Trill ambassador Eyna Dentel together. Eyna, who was married to prominent business tycoon Maxwell Dentel, of Dentel Industries, was forced out of office, and was further embarrassed on her homeworld due to her being a joined Trill.

Disgraced, and wanting to escape the public spotlight, Arron returned to his parents` home for a few months while he tried to decide what he wanted to do with his life. His father suggested he apply to the academy, and that he would write a letter of recommendation to help get him in. Arron initially rejected the idea, as he connected Star Fleet to the loss of his childhood friend L`del Kovak. He applied for several jobs in the private business sector, but most of the places recognized him from the scandal, and were somehow connected to Dentel Industries and didn`t want word to spread that they had hired the man involved with it. After 9 months without a job, Arron finally took his father up on his offer and applied to Star Fleet with his letter of recommendation. Arron Drexel (now 22) began his StarFleet career in 2377, the same year his father retired.

Academy History Arron`s parents were thrilled that he had decided to join Star Fleet, however when Arron arrived he wasn`t sure what career field he truly wanted to pursue within the organization. He took a few aptitude tests and his scores indicated he had the right mindset for intelligence work. Arron took off with it, eager to make up for his past mistakes. He took his studies at the academy very seriously. His grades weren`t perfect, but he never had any problem passing his classes, and his exam scores were exemplary.

While he excelled in the classroom, his personal life was difficult. His first year he didn`t make any true friendships, most of his peers simply didn`t trust him. He fell victim to a rumor that he had even begun a relationship with one of the Academy`s faculty though this was later proven to be false, and the persons responsible for the rumor were dealt with accordingly.

During his second year, Arron took on a heavier course load in an effort to keep himself busy and not deal with the fact that he had no social life. Arron began working on becoming a certified pilot, and scored more high marks in his related courses.

It was perhaps ironic that in his hopes to avoid dealing with the lack of a social life, that his work on his pilot certification actually led him to befriend several other academy pilots. His most notable friends were a 3rd year student named Ryan Stone (the pair would later serve together aboard the USS Washington) and a 2nd year student, a Vulcan named Xander. Xander and Stone welcomed Arron into their fold, and through them opened up many more social connections within the Academy.

By Arrons third year he had become quite popular around the Academy; liked by his classmates and professors alike. He even started a campaign to run for class president his 4th year, hoping enough time had passed that no one would care about his political history. It hadn't. Aedan Aschenbrunner, a fellow 4th year cadet began a smear campaign within the academy that forced Arron to relieve those painful memories of 4 years prior. Arron ended up withdrawing his name from the election, and Aschenbrunner would go on to become the class president for that final year in the academy.

Arron handled the blow better than he and his circle of friends had expected. He still flourished in his final year and in 2381 Arron graduated from Star Fleet Academy.

Career History Arron Drexel had hoped to receive a posting in the intelligence career field, but there had not been any openings for an Ensign straight out of the academy. Arron fell back to his flight training and took an assignment on the medical ship, the USS Fairchild, where he was a night shift helmsman. He quickly learned that no one here cared about his prior failures as a politician, nor were they impressed by his achievements at the Academy.

The Fairchild was a professional environment, and even though it was a medical ship, the Captain, Terence Townsend, was very strict when it came to protocol and following military procedure by the book. Arron worked hard to impress his Captain, and gained an understanding for what it truly meant to be a Star Fleet officer, and what was expected out of every member of the crew, regardless of how large or small their role on a star ship was.

The assignment was a relatively quiet one. Most of the missions revolved around humanitarian efforts and supply running. Arron received several commendations for his work ethic and his example, and when the time came that an intelligence posting opened up for Arron, Drexel had Captain Townsend's support.

Arron transferred to the USS Washington in 2383, where he was an Intelligence Analyst. He was pleased to see his old friend Ryan Stone serving aboard the Washington as a security officer.

Stone once again helped Arron acclimate to new surroundings and introduced him to several new people on board. The Washington had an active crew, and the ship had its own basketball league. Arron had never paid much attention to sports up until that point, but joined the league more out of a favor to Ryan. It turned out that Arron was quite the athlete and he found a new passion with sports. The Intelligence division won the ship`s basketball league during Arron`s first 2 years on board. He keeps the trophies proudly displayed on a coffee table in his quarters.

In 2384 Arron decoded a Ferengi transmission that was using a new encryption technique. The decoded message led to Star Fleet disrupting a weapons smuggling ring that was being run by Ferengi Businessman Daikon. Daikon was charged for several accounts of illegal arms dealing, and had his business license stripped by the Ferengi Trade Commission as arms dealing is considered unprofitable by the Ferengi. Arron Drexel was awarded a special medal by Star Fleet Intelligence for his actions, and was promoted to Lieutenant junior grade.

Over the next year Arron helped break 3 more encryption techniques that were previously unhackable by Star Fleet. in 2386 Drexel was listed as one of the top 10 intelligence analysts in Star Fleet. Later that same year his direct supervisor, Lieutenant Kry'wyl Sth'klezxc, was killed in a mysterious plasma fire. The cause was undetermined and the official record holds that it was a freak accident. Drexel was assigned as his replacement, and became the Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer.

From 2386-2387 the USS Washington was assigned to help patrol Cardassian Space. A new political faction had grown prominent on Cardassia, and Star Fleet intelligence was worried about its rise to power as several of its founders were sympathetic to the old Cardassian Union and had roots to the old Obsidian Order. Drexel led several covert operations to gather real time intelligence within the organization, and was instrumental in planting several intelligence officers under cover within the organization. Drexel himself ended up undergoing a few minor facial reconstruction procedures to allow him to operate with more anonymity after being recognized on one undercover mission, another instance of his past catching up to him. He changed his hair color from blond to brown, and his eyes were colored from blue to brown. His German ancestry no longer evident in his facial features. Drexel's team eventually was able to break up the controversial political party from forming into anything serious, and Drexel and his team were recalled to the Washington.

Arron had added another prestigious notch in his building resume. However he felt he had come to the end of his road on board the Washington, as there was no more room for advancement on the current vessel. Arron was approached by Section 31 to captain a newly commissioned defiant class USS Maelstrom. The ship would appear to be operating under the normal Star Fleet banner, but would actually be used for covert mission ops within Section 31. Arron jumped at the chance.

Personality His political experiences have provided Arron with a silver tongue. He can smooth talk with the best of them, and has an aura of confidence, though he has had to rebuild his confidence levels several times over his life. He has a good sense of humor, and a natural affinity for speaking in public. His athletic build and handsome features combined with his exceptional communication abilities have provided Arron access to many female beds over the years, and that reputation combined with the past scandal have made it difficult for Arron to have a real meaningful relationship, much to the chagrin of his mother. As Arron approaches his mid-30`s, the thought of a family is starting to weigh on him. Arron has an impeccable work ethic, and will see every task through to its end. (The one exception being his run for class president at the Academy). He enjoys the pressure of his work, and is able to keep a calm clear head when the stakes are high. His recent facial reconstruction has kept people from recognizing his face as tied to the events of the scandal now over a decade past, however those familiar with the old story will recognize his name instantly. For this reason Arron uses the alias Jacen Paul when undercover, borrowing from his brothers` namesakes.

Hobbies, Interests, Misc Arron is still fascinated with religion, history, and politics. He stays up to date on the Galaxy`s current events, though his job makes this a requirement anyway. He has a new found joy for sports. He also collects soil from every planet he has ever visited, the reasoning behind this is unclear, possibly psychological in nature. He currently has 23 jars of different soil which he keeps around his bedroom as decor.
